Jason Haddock is in his second season at Clements, following four seasons at Thurgood Marshall High School. Haddock serves as the assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and coaches the inside linebackers.
At Marshall, Haddock helped guide the team to the 2018 5A Div 2 state final. His linebackers led the team in tackles and defensive efficiency. He also coached the 5A First Team All-State kick returner, Devon Achane, who helped rack up 13 touchdowns on kickoff return and punt return. Haddock had five 1st Team All-District linebackers, placing three into collegiate programs. Coach Haddock also coached distance in track and helped the Marshall boys track team win three 5A state team titles in 2016, 2018, and 2019.
Prior to his time at Marshall, Haddock served two years at Booker T. Washington as the defensive coordinator. He helped grow a young defense to a strong finish, holding four opponents under 250 total yards and leading the district in forced fumbles. His special teams unit tallied 15 blocked kicks with four returned for points. He had several players selected to the All-District teams, with one selected as defensive newcomer of the year in 2013.
Prior to his time at Washington, Haddock spent time at Waco High School, Hillsboro High School, and Live Oak Classical School where he helped start the program that went 22-6 in three seasons.
A native of Marble Falls, Texas, Haddock earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Baylor University, where he spent three years playing linebacker for the Bears. He also earned a master’s degree in kinesiology – sports management from TWU. Coach Haddock has been published twice in AFCA magazine and been a speaker at the Houston Glazier clinic. He and his wife Jamie are parents of Adalina and Isabella Haddock.
